Fun fact: The municipal guard in Jelenia Góra was established by an order of Mayor Marcin Zawiła on 22 January 1991 and has been fully operational since 1 March that year. Today it has 39 officers. The sculpture was made by students of the School of Artistic Crafts under the artistic supervision of Adriana Tymon-Mrozik.

The figurine stands in the centre of Jelenia Góra, in front of the municipal guard headquarters at Armii Krajowej 19. It sits on the densest stretch of the trail – eighteen of the thirty deer stand in the centre alone.
A deer for the guard's 35th anniversary
Strażnik was unveiled on 4 September 2026, on the anniversary of the Jelenia Góra municipal guard. The force was established by an order of the mayor on 22 January 1991 and has been operating since 1 March that year; today it has 39 officers.
The sculpture was made by students of the School of Artistic Crafts – Adam Domański and Vlada Kroitor – under the artistic supervision of Adriana Tymon-Mrozik. The same school is behind most of the figurines on the trail.
